AI is running more of the world than most people realize. This is why explainability is just as important as accuracy. People don’t just want to know that AI works—they want to know how it works. In finance, for example, if an AI denies you a loan, regulators require the bank to explain why. In healthcare, some AI diagnostic tools provide heat maps that show doctors exactly which parts of an X-ray led to a certain conclusion.

Transparency matters. The more we treat AI like a black box—where decisions happen without clear reasoning—the more resistance we’ll see to its adoption. AI that can’t explain itself is AI that won’t be trusted.

One of the most dangerous misconceptions about AI safety is that it’s a one-time event. A company builds an AI model, tests it, gets regulatory approval, and then—done. That mindset needs to go. AI isn’t static software—it changes, adapts, and interacts with new data every day. That means safety isn’t a one-time checkbox; it’s a continuous commitment.
