Ignoring privacy enables surveillance, manipulation, and discrimination. Overly rigid rules can make useful AI harder to build, especially for smaller teams. The goal is a workable balance.

The practical point

AI and privacy can coexist when privacy is designed into the system early. The worst option is treating privacy as a legal cleanup task after the model has already been built.
